This unique linear walk traces old paths established a thousand years ago when the Axarquia was a main silk producing region. On route, you stay in three pretty white villages dating back to Moorish times when silk cultivation was the major source of income. The first three nights are spent in Canillas de Albaida, the next two nights in Frigiliana and the last two nights in the coastal village of Maro. Airport transfers are provided along with transfers to trail heads and the transportation of bags between hotels. Walks are tailor made to suit individual walking preferences

Spanish Steps

This is the  self drive version of our Silk Trail holiday self guided holiday starting in Canillas de Albaida  in the mountains and ending in  a quite coastal  village close to  Nerja.  The ' trail ' walks the length of the south facing slopes of the Sierra Tejeda and Sierra Almijara, connecting villages on the way. It starts high in the sierras to the west and ends in the east where the mountains dramatically drop to the sea. Accommodation for the first three nights  is in  Canillas de Albaida, the next nights are spent in Frigiliana and the final two nights at the coastal village of Maro

The famed white towns and villages around Ronda have long been a destination for discerning travellers. The rolling contryside of Serrania de Ronda and the majestic Sierras de Grazalema offer great opportunities for walking. This 7 night linear walking holiday explores the very best of the sierras. After the first night in Ronda you stay for 2 nights in Montejaque and the last 4 nights in Grazalema. The hotels are in the centre of these delightful pueblos and the last two locations have pools. Bags are transported between locations.

This self drive holiday follows a similar itinerary to the Route of the Pueblos Blancos plus the opportunity to walk the spectacular and recently re-opened Caminito del Rey. The first night is spent in Ronda, a 90 minute drive from Malaga airport. The followng two nights are spent in Montejaque, the next three nights in Grazalema and the last night in Guadalhorce, the 'lake district' of Andalucia. The drive from Grazalema to the lakes takes around 90 minutes and the Caminito is walked in the afternoon. Overnight accommodation is in a delightful hotel close to the north access of the gorge. This location leaves an easy 60 minute drive back to Malaga airport to end the adventure.
